Cancer Services
Are you coping with a cancer diagnosis? Over the years Derry Well Women has led the development of programmes for women living with life threatening illnesses. Our support to women living with a cancer diagnosis includes cancer counselling, a fortnightly cancer support group, a 2-day complementary therapy programme, a course of complementary therapy sessions, an 8-week Well Programme, a Mental Health and Wellbeing Programme, and a Stress Anxiety Management Programme. This four-strand approach – involving support, therapeutic and educational elements which all complement each other has been developed in consultation with users.
Cancer Support Group
The cancer support group is open to all women living with a cancer diagnosis. The support group meets once a fortnight on a Thursday morning from 11am – 1pm.
One Day Cancer programme
Our one day cancer programme is based on the principle that each person needs to be views as a whole, but with emotional, spiritual, mental and physical dimensions.
To register your interest for the next programme please contact Patricia on: 02871360777
The Well Programme
The Well Programme was developed by Derry Well Woman in 1999. Designed for people living with a cancer diagnosis, the Well Programme is a 36-hour holistic behavioural medicine programme, which aims to address all aspects of a woman’s health: mental, emotional and spiritual. The programme provides practical support and tips to support with every day living for those with cancer, alongside positive, healing and life-affirming elements, which help us to live more peacefully and joyfully. Sessions are held once a week for 10 weeks, and the programme runs 3 times per year.
